Lancaster vs Orchard Park

Lancaster will be on the road once again in Week 3 when they meet the Quakers in Orchard Park. The Quakers are 2-0 with wins against Sweet Home and Niagara Falls.

Last Time Out

On a sunny warm Saturday afternoon the Lancaster football team got on a bus and made their way to Lockport NY to play the Lions. The Legends would receive the kickoff and after just 13 seconds be up by 7 points after the ball was returned to the endzone.

The Lions would punt on their 1st possession but that punt was blocked and recovered by the Legends inside the 5 yard line. A couple of plays later, the visiting team scored again, 14-0 after the PAT.

The second time with the ball for Lockport would end with a tipped ball and land in the hands of a Lancaster player, 1st and 10 from the Lions 35 yard line. Just a few plays after the turnover, a pass to the flats was caught and carried over the goal line, Lancaster up 21-0.

The Lockport Lions would begin to move the ball until a pass would be picked off and brought back for 6 points, 28-0 after the point after.

Lancaster would get the ball back after the Lions would turn the ball over on downs when the QB went back for a pass and was sacked.

Legends did not waste anytime with the ball and get themselves into the redzone. A run up the middle added to the score, 35-0 Legends up with 8:34 left in the 2nd Q.

Lockport would get on the board with a screen pass that 68 yards, they went for 2 but were stopped.

The Lancaster Legends did not let off the gas as the kickoff return was brought back to the Lockport 22. A handful of plays later, the score would be 41-6 and the halftime would come.

Lockport would get the ball to start the 2nd half but a pass was picked off by the Lancaster secondary. The ball was returned deep into the Lockport end but a penalty brought it back to the Lancaster end. It would not take long though for the Legends to turn that turnover to points as a handoff was run to the house, 48-6.

Lockport would score 2 late scores brining the final to 48-22.

Class AA

Week 3 in Class AA will be a big week for teams in the Section. Niagara Falls played OP to Overtime last week and now play the reigning champion Bennett Tigers. Lockport will be looking to get a W in the win column when they play Jamestown who lost to St. Joe's last week. Hutch Tech will be traveling to North Tonawanda to play the Lumberjacks.
