This week the Section VI Class AA Playoff's begin with Lancaster welcoming Hutch Tech to Foyle-Kling Field. This will be the 8th game between these two schools dating back to 2015. It will be the 3rd time that they have met in the playoffs, each having been at Lancaster.
Last week the Legends renewed its oldest rivilary when the Depew Wildcats came to 1 Forton Drive. The squads did not get to play in 2020, a first since 1940. Lancaster jumped out early and kept the pressure on the visiting team all game long. Read more on Lancaster/Depew 2021.
Hutch Tech would play at home last week and meet the Clarence Red Devils. Clarence was able to get 3 TD's in the 1st half and 2 more in the 3rd quarter. Read more on Hutch Tech/Clarence.
5 years ago to the day, Hutch Tech met the Legends in the semifinal round of the playoffs. Lancaster would jump out early and grab the lead on the opening kickoff that was brought back 75 yards by Max Giordano, 6-0. Later, the Legends would score again on a 37 yard pass between Ryan Mansell and LG Castillo. The team went for a 2-point conversion and converted to make it 14-0. 6 of the 7 teams in Class AA are in action this weekend as Bennett is the only team with a Bye. They are in the Semifinal round as they are the top seed in the conference. Other Matchups who both play Friday: Niagara Falls at Clarence and Orchard Park at Williamsville North.
