Saturday Night Lancaster and Clarence will be at Clarence HS to play at least 1 half of football.
The Lancaster Legends and Clarence Red Devils will be back at it Saturday Night to finish what was started Friday Night. The game will start with the beginning of the 3rd Q, Clarence getting the ball. Lancaster is up by a score of 17-7, having scored first with their first possession. Clarence would score by running the ball down the field and getting into the endzone. Lancaster would get the ball back and on a short pass and long run to get down near the goal line before scoring 6 points. Near the end of the 1st half, the Red Devils would attempt a punt but the Legends blocked it, picked it up and ran it inside the 10 yard line. The Clarence defense would stop 3 plays by the Lancaster offense and force a Legends FG.
In 1992, the Lancaster football squad would welcome Bishop Timon to Foyle-Kling Field. A storm would blow over Lancaster brining with it thunder and lighting. The game would be called and it would continue the next night. Water on the sidelines was ankle deep before the referees stopped play. When play was halted, the score was 0-0.
On Saturday night play would begin in the 2nd Quarter and Lancaster would use both the ground and passing game to move the ball. Bill Cwiklinski would cross the goal line 2 times and run for 100 yards along with 58 through the air. The home team would earn a shutout and get the victory on the "Night."

Friday Night the Lancaster Legends will travel to Clarence High School to take on the Red Devils in a big Class AA matchup. These 2 teams both come into this game with identical 5-1 records and are looking to improve to 6-1. Bennett has beaten both the Legends and Red Devils and will have the upper hand once the playoffs are seeded.
Lancaster beat Orchard Park, who beat Bennett, who beat Clarence, who beat OP. See, it's easy, anything can happen. Buckle UP!
Last week both teams were in action and were both at home. Lancaster had its Senior Night honoring them before the game and faced the Williamsville North Spartans. The Legends were able to take advantage of some early mistakes from WN and get 3 quick TD's in the 1st Quarter. Read more on the Lancaster/WN game.
Clarence faced the OP Quakers in what turned into an instant classic.
Clarence went into the half up 21-19 and was able to get a TD in the 3rd Q to go up by 9. OP would not throw in the towel as they would throw themselves back in it. Literally. The Quakers would throw for 412 yards on the night with 3 TD's by air. OP had a chance for a last second tie but were unable to convert and the Red Devils were able to earn the victory. Clarence carried the ball for 397 yards and ran it to the house for 6 TD's. Find out more about last weeks Clarence/OP game
These 2 schools have a long history of playing each other starting all the way back to 1919. Clarence HS was once called Parker HS until 1946 when the Clarence School District was established. Read more on the history of Clarence HS name.
In the 1919 and 1920 school years the Lancaster squad did not have a coach to instruct the boys. It would not be until 1921 that the Lancaster team would have a coach, Bill Corcoran. See more of the 1919 and 1920 seasons of the Lancaster Football Team.
Lancaster and Red Devils may only be 5 miles apart from each other but have only ever faced each other 1 time in the playoffs. In 2019 the Legends traveled to Main Street for a date in the 1st round. Lancaster would have the challenge of stopping a powerful running game to even have a chance at winning. Lancaster would go into the half with a 9-3 lead and in the 3rd Q were able to earn another TD and make it 15-3. Clarence was able to get their offense going in the last Quarter and make it 15-10.
