Legends vs Tigers

Friday Night the Lancaster Legends will be traveling to All-High Stadium to play the Bennett Tigers. These 2 squads along with Clarence, are at the top of Class AA in Section VI and the winner of this game will be in the driver's seat leading into the 2nd half of the season.

Last Time Out

Lancaster made the trek to Niagara Falls to play the Wolverines and came away with a 41-6 victory. The Legends would jump out early in the 1st Quarter and pull ahead 21-0. At halftime the visiting team would be up 34-6. The Legends used the ground game to push through in this one, rushing for 222 yards.

Bennett would play the Orchard Park Quakers last Saturday afternoon in a big Class AA matchup. The Tigers would score first but OP would get on the board and go up into the half 38-22. More on the Bennett-OP game.

Lancaster/Bennett History

The Legends and Tigers have a short history of playing each other but the games that have been played have been crucial to deciding the Section Championship.

2020 Fall II

The 2020 Fall II season saw these same 2 teams play the first game of the year against each other with Lancaster pulling out a Win that night. The squads were to play in the Semi-final at Lancaster High School but the game was canceled and the Legends moved on to play in the Section Championship.

2018

The 2 schools have played in Orchard Park at Highmark Stadium in the 2018 Section Championship game. Lancaster was able to hold the high powered Tiger offense to 6 points in the contest. After that win, Lancaster would be 29-1 in the last 3 years against Section VI opponents. More on the Lancaster-Bennett Championship game.

A few weeks before the Championship, The Legends would travel to All-High Stadium for what would turn into a shootout. The lead in this game would go back and forth as each team would deliver a score only to have the other come back with their own. It would look like the Legends might grab the lead for good by going up 35-24 but the Tigers never let up. They would score 3 more TD's and the win in this one. 2017

In 2017 Bennett would move from Class A to Class AA in the Section and began playing the area's largest schools. The Tigers were the Class A Champs in 2016 before moving to the new class. The first team they would face would be the Lancaster Legends that year.
