WNY Athletics: LEGENDS WIN 3RD STRAIGHT CLASS AA TITLE GAME
TBN: Section VI Class AA football championship preview: Lancaster vs. Bennett
Friday at 5:30 the Lancaster Legends will line up against the Bennett Tigers at New Era Field for the Section VI Class AA Championship game. The winner will move on in the state playoffs and play the Section V champion at Clarence HS next week. The Legends are making a habit of showing up at New Era Field this time of year as this will be the 3rd straight year playing in OP. This will be the 4th time the two schools have faced each other with the last meeting being a shootout taking place in week 5 when Lancaster traveled to All-High Stadium.

The squads were able to move the ball up and down the field all game long. Lancaster would strike first with a long pass that went for 55 yards and put them up 7-0. Bennett would not let that score go unanswered as they would score 2 times before the 1st quarter ended. A long run and a pass with two 2 point conversions put the Tigers up 16-7. More Lancaster/Bennett!
Williamsville North and Lancaster played last week Friday at Foyle-Kling Field for the right to continue to play and move on. The Legends would score first in that game when a pass would be thrown into the endzone and caught for 6 points and an extra point went through the uprights, 7-0 Lancaster. In the 2nd quarter the home team would get put up another 7 points when a 1 yard run crossed the goal line. The Spartans would not be out done in that 2nd quarter and got on the board to make the score at the half 14-6 Legends. Read about last weeks game here!
