Friday Night the Lancaster Legends will begin the 2017 Playoffs by welcoming to Foyle-Kling Field the Hutch Tech Engineers. This will be the 4th meeting ever between these two schools. Lancaster holds a 3-0 series lead with all three games being played the last 2 years. This is the 3rd time the squads are playing in Lancaster. Hutch Tech played 2 times at Foyle-Kling Field last year, once in week 6 and again in the playoffs. In 2015 Lancaster played away when they beat the Engineers 45-8.
The Legends come into the game undefeated on the season and have not lost a game to a Section VI team since 2015. They are 14-0 in the regular season since the start of 2016. Lancaster just beat rival Depew 43-7 last week at Frank Constantino Sports Complex.
The Engineers ended the regular season with a 2-5 record. They have lost 3 straight after starting the year 2-2. Their wins are against Frontier in week 3 and Lockport, week 4.
Week six last year would see Lancaster win 51-24 to clinch the South Division. It was the 3rd time the offense would reach 50 or more points on the year and would do it again a week later against Depew with 51. Lancaster would score early and often in this one going to the half up 30-0. They would get 3 more scores in the 2nd half to reach 51.
The 2nd round of the playoffs Hutch Tech made the trip to Lancaster again to meet the Legends. Lancaster would jump out to an early lead in this one, 21-0 after the 1st quarter. At the half, the score would be 28-6. The Engineers would get another TD in the 3rd before Lancaster broke through for another score to bring the final to 35-12.
