Saturday Night both the Legends of Lancaster and the Northstars of Cicero-North Syracuse will be traveling to Union-Endicott High School to meet up for the right to play in the State Championship Game for Class AA. These 2 squads come into the game both undefeated at 11-0, both Section Champs and winners of thier region game last week. Cicero-North Syracuse is from Section III in the Syracuse area and Lancaster from Section VI.

For both schools this is the farthest the football team has made it in the playoffs. Lancaster has won a Section VI title before having done it in 1999 and 2016 but were unable to get past the section V team they faced. Cicero-North Syracuse their section win was the first in the schools history. Getting past Elmira means the quest continues as they prepare for the Legends.
The winner of this game will face the winner of the Troy/Newburgh Free Academy game being played at Middletown HS. Troy beat New Rochelle 17-14 and Newburgh Free Academy had a Bye Week to reach the Semi-Final game this week.
Last Saturday Night Lancaster made their way down the 90 to Brockport to play Aquinas of Section V in the Far West Regionals. The 2 squads came into the game 19-1 on the year and looking to move on in the state playoffs. The Legends would score a TD in the 1st half and the defense would do the rest as they pitched a shut out. Check out more from this game here, and also here.
Two weeks ago the Legends headed to Orchard Park, NY to meet the Williamsville North Spartans and for the right to move on in the state playoffs. Lancaster would jump out early and as they were up 14-0 after 1 quarter. The half would see Lancaster ahead 21-0 and in control of the game. Read more about the Section Championship!
3 weeks ago Jamestown came to the town of Lancaster for the right to play at New Era Field and were soundly defeated by the Legends 61-12. Lancaster would tie a record for points scored in a game set this year against Niagara-Wheatfield. Read about Lancaster/Jamestown
A month ago in the quarterfinals Lancaster played Hutch Tech and were able to get a win 35-0. Ryan Mansell went 12-19 passing for 166 yards and threw for 3 TD's. Read more about Lancaster/Hutch Tech.
Last year when Lancaster played in this contest they faced the Orchard Quakers and won 27-7 to move on in state playoffs. Lancaster would score two TD's in the 2nd quarter to get to the half up 14-0. They would get one touchdown in the 3rd and 4th before OP could answer with a score of their own. The Legends would win their first Section VI championship since 1999.
This will be the 1st ever meeting between Lancaster and Cicero-North Syracuse.
