Hutch Tech will be playing Starpoint this week Saturday. Niagara Falls will face Frontier as both teams will be looking for a win after last weekend. Bennett will travel to Ohio to face Austin-Fitch Falcons which is near Youngstown, OH. The Falcons are 4-0 on the season with a win over Foothills Falcons from Nevada who traveled to Ohio to face Austin-Fitch.
Orchard Park will be facing Sweet Home after playing Jamestown in what turned into a shootout.
The Quakers received the ball to start this game and came out throwing it right down the field. The TD they earned on that drive would be a run up the middle, extra point good, 7-0 OP.
The squads would both have to punt on their next possessions as the defense stepped up.
The next time Jamestown got the ball, they started at the OP 39 yard line. On 1 play they scored a TD by throwing the ball under good coverage from the OP DB, game tied at 7.
The Red Raiders stopped the OP offense and got the ball back. Another long pass set up Jamestown, this time at the OP 20 yard line. A couple of plays later and a Quaker penalty, Jamestown was back in the endzone on a tough run up the middle, 14-7.
Orchard Park would not be out done, they would move deep inside the visitors end on a screen play to the left side of the offense. All the movement was to the right but the throw was back to the other side of the play. OP would have to overcome a penalty to get a TD but were able to on a pass and another 6 points early in the 2nd Quarter, 14-14.
After the teams would have a couple of chances with the ball but were unable to get points, OP threw a 53 yard TD pass for 6 points. Extra point was good, 21-14 OP up at the half.
Jamestown would get the ball to start the 2nd half and moved down the field with both the pass and run plays. They got down to the OP 25 yard line and put up a jump ball to the goal line with a Red Raider coming down with a score, 21-21.
The Quakers would get into position to move ahead right after that on a pass play up the seam and down to the Red Raider 15 yard line. A couple of plays later, a slant pass would connect and the receiver found pay dirt, OP back up 28-21.
OP would attempt a short kickoff to surprise the visiting team but the ball went out of bounds at the Jamestown 39 yard line.
The Jamestown offense would once again move the ball down the field and into the red zone. A run up the middle would get 6 points for the team from Chautauqua County, 28 up.
The home team got the ball again and moved it to the end zone, 34-28, a 2 point conversion was no good.
OP would stop Jamestown and would gain control of the ball. The Quakers would throw a long ball along the sideline but a OP receiver would tip the pass up and it landed in the hands of a Red Raider defender. He would bring he ball back inside the Quaker 15 yard line, 1st and 10 Jamestown.
A few plays later and another pass to the back of the end zone was caught by a visiting player bringing the score to 35-34 Jamestown up late in the 3rd Q.
OP did what they had been doing all night and find the goal line again to get back up on a run, 40-35, 2 point conversion was intercepted.
Early in the 4th quarter Orchard Park stopped Jamestown and would get the ball back. They did not waste time with it as a short pass would go the distance making the score 47-35.
There would still be over 8 minutes left in the game but Jamestown would be unable to find any more points ending a wild game.
