Last Time Out
Legends vs Engineers
The last time we saw the Legends they were opening a 3 game home stand against the Hutch Tech Engineers.
Lancaster Captains at the Coin Toss
Hutch Tech opened with the ball but were unable to get a 1st down and were forced to punt.
Lancaster started their drive at the Engineer 30 yard line and moved the ball on the ground to the goal line. On 2nd down from the 6, a run up the middle got the ball into the endzone and the Legends were up 7-0 after the extra point.
On the next Hutch Tech possession the defense would get the Engineers in a 4th and 6, which they attempted. The QB went back for a pass but would not find anyone open and was sacked. The ball came loose with a Hutch Tech player jumping on it but possession would change back to Lancaster.
The drive start was deep in the Hutch Tech end but on a run yards away from the endzone, a fumble would be recovered by the Engineers.
The visiting team on the very next play also fumbled but would recover the ball. Their drive would go in the wrong direction as the Legends defense pushed them back to the 4 yard line. Hutch Tech would not be able to pick up any 1st downs and were forced to punt.
Lancaster Offense setting the line
Lancaster ran the ball on the first play and got 6 points to extend their lead 14-0.
The teams would both get possessions with the ball but were unable to get any traction on their drives until the Legends hit on a big play in the 2nd Quarter.
The Lancaster offense ran an option play with the quarterback pitching the ball and the running back getting to the Hutch Tech 25. The next play was another option play but this run would get inside the endzone for 6 points, extra point was no good.
The Legends stopped the Engineers offense and got the ball back. They would move the ball and on a 4th and 1 play up the middle ran into the endzone once again for 6 points, extra point good, 27-0.
When Hutch tech controlled the ball next they were able to move it down the field with the mix of run and pass plays. The Legends defense also had a penalty aiding to the drive. Looking at a 4th and 4 from the Lancaster 45, the Engineers threw a pass to a WR but was picked off and taken back for touchdown.
Lancaster bringing back an interception for 6 points
The teams went into the half with Lancaster up 34-0.
The 2nd half opening drive, the Legends would have the ball and run it for 6 points on a 1st and goal situation.
The teams would get plenty of opportunities to move the ball but neither team scored brining the final score, 41-0 Legends.
Crusaders vs Marauders
Canisius would start the game off with the ball against their rival St. Joe's. A run on 1st down went for a yard but 2nd down would be a short pass and a 1st down. The Crusaders kept throwing the ball and hitting until they ran a sweep to the right with a WR who ran it down inside the redzone. They scored their 1st TD on a pass that went to the right side of the offense, 7-0 Canisius.
St. Joe's first time with the ball would begin with a long run from the Joe's 37 and brought to the Crusader 24 yard line. Only a DB was between the RB and 6 points on the run. The rest of their drive was on the ground when from the 7 yard line another run up the middle led to 6 points, 7-7 after the PAT.
Canisius started the next drive at midfield after the Marauders kicked it short and the Crusaders jumped on it. This drive went in the wrong direction as they would face a 4th and 18 and the QB punted the ball after they came out with their offense.
St. Joe's started deep in thier own end but were able to run the ball to their own 41 on a QB RPO. The ball would cross midfield on a pass near the sidelines to the Canisius 32 yard line. The Marauders threw another pass to the 3 that connected, 1st and goal. On 2nd down, the QB ran around the right side of the defense and dove for the goalline and got that ball in, Joe's up 14-7.
The kickoff was unconventional but got the ball to the 18. Canisius kept throwing the ball and putting pressure on the corners of St. Joe's. The Crusaders faced a 4th and 7 at their own 33 and went for it with a pass to the sticks at the sidelines that connected and kept possession of the ball. This drive looked like it was going to stall as a pass that went backwards was dropped but Canisius jumped on it, making it 2nd a 22. They attempted a pass that did not connect but a roughing the passer penalty gave them a 1st and 10.
The run was not used much expect for another 4 down and 1 call. The Crusaders lined up in a wildcat formation and picked up the 1st. The very next play was a long pass that the WR jumped over the DB to get the ball and got himself into the endzone but a holding call brought it back. A 2nd and 23 would get picked up when the defense was called for another roughing the passer call and gave the visiting team a 1st down.
Canisius kept throwing the ball and were bleeding the clock when on 2nd and goal with 41 seconds left a pass in the endzone was caught, 13-14, as the wildcat formation did not pick up the 2 point coversion.
St. Joe's went into the half up and were going to get the ball to start the 2nd half.
