Legends vs Wolverines
This Saturday the Lancaster Legends will be traveling to Niagara Falls to take on the Wolverines in a Class AA match-up of teams who both won in Week 1.
Lancaster would host Hutch Tech and were able to pull away from the get go as the opening kickoff was brought back for a TD to put the Legends up early.
Niagara Falls traveled to Lockport last week Saturday to take on the Lions and were able to come away with a 26-20 victory.
Lancaster and Niagara Falls first played against each other in 1921 and ‘22. There was a brief pause in meetings but started back up in 1975 and ‘76. There was another break in action until 2001 and ever since the 2 schools have met 11 times with the Legends holding a 11-4 advantage in the series.
The squads have met in the playoffs, 2009, a 12-0 victory for Lancaster that year with what would turn out to be a trip to New Era Field.
