Friday Night the Lancaster Legends will begin the 2019 Playoffs at Clarence High School to face the Red Devils. The game will be a rematch of a thriller that took place in week 3 that saw the game go into Overtime. Clarence would score first in the overtime session to go up 27-20. Lancaster would also score in OT but elected to go for 2 and the win for the extra point. They were stopped just short and the Red Devils would come away with the win. Read more on that game.
Lancaster and Clarence have met 29 times with the Legends leading the series 21-8. This will be one of few times these 2 teams will have met in the playoffs on the gridiron. In 2014 they met in the Chuck Funke Classic with Clarence winning that game 35-28.
The past 2 seasons the Week 3 opponent has been the first opponent in the playoffs for the Legends. In 2018, Williamsville North and Lancaster would tangle at WNHS that also was a thriller where the Legends would come from behind to pick up a big win for the squad. More on that game.
