Snowday 2021!
On the morning of Wednesday, April 21st 2021, a fresh coating of snow fell in the Lancaster NY area. It would be 4-5 inches deep in one particular area that would be needed in the days ahead. A unique situation to a unique season.
Foyle-Kling Field would be the patch of grass that would need to be cleared of the snow because the Legends football team would be playing later this week when they welcome Clarence in its Spring Season.
The grounds crew started around 12:30 that afternoon with about 5 guys shoveling snow. Around 4pm the football team showed show up and helped clear the rest of the snow and get the field ready for Friday Night!!
The removal of snow from Foyle-Kling Field this week was an unusual event but has happened in the past. In 1982, the Lancaster/Depew game would have to be moved from Friday night to Monday night because of snow. The players along with Coach Foyle would have to remove the white stuff from the field to play on that Monday.
