Legends vs Wildcats
Legends vs Wildcats
Friday Night the Lancaster Legends will be traveling to Depew High School for the Annual Lancaster/Depew Football Game. This will be the 94th meeting between the 2 teams that started back in 1919 when Depew defeated Lancaster, 6-0.
The squads come into the game near or at the top of their respective classes. Lancaster is 7-0 and will have a bye week next week along with all Class AA teams before kicking off the playoffs. Depew is 2nd in Class C Central having only lost to Lackawanna, 12-6 in league play.

The 100-year rivalry between Lancaster and Depew was voted as the best in New York. The Legends have won 11 of the last 17, but the Wildcats look to get back in the win column this Friday night.

Last Time Out
Legends vs Quakers
The Legends were on the road last week when they faced the Orchard Park Quakers for a Class AA Matchup. The teams would not score in the 1st quarter of the game as the defense on both sides were playing well.
In the 2nd Quarter the Legends would get on the scoreboard. With the ball on their own 45 yard line, the Legends would line up 4 wide with a RB in the backfield. The QB stood in shotgun and when he caught the snap, threw the ball to the RB who ran out to the right. He would get up the field and shook off a few defenders and ran up the sideline to the endzone, Lancaster up 7-0.
OP would get the ball and move into the Lancaster end and on 2nd and 10 at the Legends 8 yard line, ran a sweep to the left. The Legends defense would be up to the challenge and hit the RB behind the line of scrimmage forcing the running back to try to get back those yards. He would face more defenders who were able to get the ball away from him and the defense would pick it up and run it all the way back for another TD, 14-0.
The Quakers would score a TD to bring the score to 14-7 going into the half. In the 3rd Quarter the home team would get themselves another TD tying the game.
In the 4th Quarter, the Legends were able to get themselves a FG in the 4th to pull ahead once again.

Orchard Park would have the ball in their own end when they passed to a WR and he would fumble with Lancaster picking up the loose ball. The Legends were able to end that drive with a Touchdown to push their lead, 23-14.
Later in the quarter, Lancaster had the ball at midfield when they were able to create a hole for the RB who ran down to the endzone, Legends victory, 30-14.
